Individual therapy for adults aged 18+.
I specialize in treating PTSD, complex trauma, depression, and generalized anxiety; I also have extensive experience working with adult children of dysfunctional families. I utilize a variety of different types of therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Process Therapy, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. I’m a strong believer in flexibility of approach, and I will often use various techniques from several of these modalities with my clients.
I’m also a strong believer that therapy should emphasize overall lifestyle change. In addition to utilizing research supported therapy techniques, I also enjoy exploring simple lifestyle changes that can help to improve health, mood, outlook, and relationship quality. One of my favorite skill sets to teach is mindfulness based interventions. These interventions may look different for each individual, but can include things such as meditation, yoga, or simple grounding skills. Again, flexibility is key, and we can explore together which lifestyle changes you want or feel inclined to address.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
